Main topics

AO Action transfers exploits European capability in artificial olfaction technologies and advanced gas sensing. It promotes the uptake of new technology to industry and coordinates research activity. AO Action's objective is that this activity will lead to lasting integration between industry and the research base. AO Action draws on the expertise of over twenty laboratories and institutes Europe-wide and targets applications in security, healthcare and environmental monitoring. It provides a range of services from feasibility and technology studies through to technology development and licensing. AO Action has the capability to explore real world applications of artificial olfaction technology and to develop custom solutions, taking into account biological aspects of olfaction, novel sensing and sampling hardware and signal and data processing.
